I have grouped these based on the style of each cafe, but some definitely cover multiple categories so read the descriptions! Each of the titles links to the reel (video) I have made about that spot, so you get a little preview before you choose to visit.

Pretty Moment : a sweet little plant shop and cafe, it brings such a peaceful feeling
Good for : Delicious coffee and matcha with a side of plants! There isn’t too much space to sit, so I wouldn’t recommend it as a place to work

8. Intelligentsia Coffee at the Highline Hotel
The very first Pretty Cafe I fell in love with in NYC!

Pretty Moment : cute little coffee bar in a beautiful hotel – don’t worry this is frequented by locals in the AM! They also serve coffee in a London double decker bus in the garden during nice weather.
Good for : grab and go morning coffee, or a more leisurely coffee in the nicer weather to enjoy in their garden

1. Blue Box Cafe, Tiffany’s, Fifth Ave.

Good for : Afternoon Tea or breakfast a la Breakfast at Tiffany’s

2. The Palm Court at the Plaza

Pretty Moment : The Palm Court is one of the most iconic dining rooms in NYC, the beautiful ceiling alone is worth the visit.
Good for : a fancy afternoon tea, definitely an iconic New York City experience!

Pretty Moment : a charming Austrian cafe in the Neue Galerie transporting you to Europe
Good for : their cakes (especially recommend the Sachertorte!), and a fancy coffee with friends. Beware of long lines on the weekends.

1. Fellini Coffee, West Village

Pretty Moment : A cute little coffee shop on the corner of 7th Ave South and Perry St.
Good for : Perfect spot for people watching with an iced coffee

Pretty Moment : a hidden gem in NoHo with a steady stream of regulars, you might even spot a celebrity!
Good for : regular drip coffee, don’t recommend the cortado. Can work but it might be hard to find a seat.

3. Ralphs Coffee, Upper East Side
Address : 888 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10021
Pretty Moment : an Upper East Side classic, with pretty side walk seating for optimal people watching. The interiors are beautiful too.
Good for : people watching, a classic Upper East Side moment. Don’t recommend working here.
Tip : Ralph’s has the best bathrooms near Central Park

Pretty Cafes with Good Food
1. L’Appartement 4f, Brooklyn Heights
Address : 115 Montague St, Brooklyn, NY 11201
Pretty Moment : a beautiful French bakery with a little cafe on the second floor – this started as a bakery in an apartment in Cobble Hill (4f) during the pandemic!
Good for : authentic French croissants and baguettes with your coffee – some of the best in the city!

2. Sogno Toscano, West Village

Pretty Moment : a lovely Italian cafe serving sandwiches, pastries, wine and of course coffee! The indoor and outdoor seating is both beautiful.
Good for : coffee, wine, sandwiches, live music on some evenings

Good for : bagels! their coffee is good too, but mostly go for the bagels. There is only outdoor seating, but I recommend

Good for : proper English scones and tea! More of a sit down cafe (no laptops)

Pretty Moment : a French patisserie in a historical district on the Upper East Side, lovely outdoor and indoor tables
Good for : delicious French pastries and Provencal tea

Pretty Moment : a stunning space in Chelsea with expansive views over the Hudson River and Little Island.
Good for : Has cozy spaces both to work and chat, laptops allowed. I recommend signing up for the Korean tea ceremony on the weekends!

Pretty Cafes with a Modern Vibe (and EXCELLENT coffee)
I’d like to preface this section by saying that every cafe I have recommended on here has good coffee as that is the baseline. However, the following coffee shops truly serve some of the best coffee in the city, espressos, drip coffee, and my favorite – delicate pour overs.
1. WatchHouse, Fifth Ave, Midtown

Pretty Moment : a hip new cafe near Rockefeller Center with a fresh, beautiful ambience
Good for : really delicious and high quality coffee! I recommend for working with laptops or coffee with friends. They serve a good decaf espresso too. The blood orange danish is absolutely delicious.
