One of my absolute favorite things about Paris was the doors! In our meanderings, we found doors of every color, every age, every level of detail. You can’t imagine what joy that is for a door lover like me, or what annoyance it is for a door-indifferent companion like my husband (because the door lover stops to admire every single door, every few minutes).
Here are some of my favorite Parisian doors. I’ve tried to list where you might find these, but I suggest you use this post more as inspiration than a guide. The real happiness in finding beautiful doors is stumbling upon them!
My favorite area for doors was definitely the Île Saint-Louis. This small island on the Seine packs in a lot of punch when it comes to doors.
The doorways on the Île de la Cité don’t disappoint either. You can walk over here from the Île Saint-Louis over a lovely little bridge.
Le Marais definitely cannot be left behind when talking of doors.
I especially loved this one with faces carved on to it. I like to think they are of the people that once lived within..
And then there’s the lovely Montmarte! I recommend getting here early in the morning to explore in peace.
Of course, there are beautiful doors all around Paris, including the “doorways” to the Metro stations.
Are you convinced to book a flight to Paris based on just the beautiful doors? More in-depth Parisian guides coming soon to the blog!
What a cool, different perspective on your visit to Paris!! Love the different door colors and sizes!!

Ok why don’t I never come up with an idea of cool doors blog post? I think you’d love Bordeaux as well, I loved their cobalt blue doors. La Galette des Moulins is the bakery of my dreams, and yes, I am convinced to visit Paris, especially after seeing your Paris stories. π And also, Cecile Molinie’s Instagram profile- do you follow her? Hugs, Anja

ohh you should write a post on the doors of Tuscany! There’s one door especially that you photographed in your latest Pienza blog post that I absolutely love!
Bordeaux is on my list of places to visit, climbed up higher now due to the possibility of admiring cobalt blue doors! I don’t follow Cecile Molinie, going to check her out now!
Glad you are convinced to visit Anja, wish we could have met up in Paris <3
